CDR's Swap Don't Shop is our own little way of celebrating Earth Day. Even when it's not Earth Day, we still be gettin' our thrift on at our local thrift shops. Who doesn't love an awesome thrift find?
So we're here to tell ya to keep up the thrifting, because you are making the world a more sustainable and healthy place!
RE-DUCE, RE-USE, RE-CYCLE when you don't have to buy something brand new and you just want to get a few new pieces to add to your wardrobe. That's all it takes.
And then when you're tired of your old wardrobe, donate them to your local thrift stores. At the Swap Don't Shop though, that we have each semester, we do that for you! All you have to do is drop them off to us at our Swap Don't Shop TOMORROW from 11 AM-2 PM at the Earth Day Carnival in the QUAD, and we will bring them to Goodwill for you.
Then for as many clothes as you donate, you can swap for another clothing item already donated by other local members of the campus community, including some of our CDR members'. We'll have both menswear and womenswear and anything from shoes, bags accessories and clothes.
If you do not have any clothes, you may pay $1 per clothing item with all proceeds going to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital who we work very closely with on campus.
This event is what CDR is all about, MAKING THE WORLD A BETTER PLACE THROUGH FASHION'S UNIQUE OPPORTUNITIES. We want to celebrate the fact that there's more to fashion than just "looking cute." It's about coming together over our love for expressing our individualism and making a difference in the world while doing so.
So make sure to come down and at least see what we have to offer. Not only you will be benefit from collecting some new thrift pieces, but you will also reduce waste by donating clothes to our Swap and Goodwill, and also support those of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
