Three Ways to Style a Turtleneck

Updated: Sep 29, 2020

I always think it’s fun to use one item of clothing in different ways. You can get more use out of an item without anyone realizing it's the same outfit or the same top! For a new and improved winter or fall look don’t just wear the turtleneck as is, add items to it to make it pop. I have three looks all wearing the same turtleneck piece.

The first look is the white turtle neck and I decided to add a gold layered necklace, plaid jacket which you can either leave open or tied, a leather red skirt to pop, and brown thigh high boots to tie the whole look together. If it’s a bit chilly out, you can add some tights underneath. I think this look is perfect for a lunch date, a holiday party, Valentine’s Day date, or if you just want to look cute when going out for the day. I purchased the turtleneck from Target, the jacket and necklace from Fashion Nova, the skirt from Windsor, and the boots from Forever 21. You can find any of these items in most retail stores!

The second look is the turtleneck and a layered lingerie piece on top, paired with light washed jeans, black thigh high boots, and a gold belt and necklace to tie it off. The lingerie look has been trending a lot lately, but I think adding the long sleeve underneath makes it look so much cuter! This outfit could be worn on a night out with the girls, to dinner, or even a casual date. I purchased the lingerie top from Windsor, jeans from Target, and black thigh high boots from JCPenny’s.

The third and final look is the turtleneck underneath a jumpsuit and white tennis shoes to match. This color is one of my favorite fall/winter colors! I love the whole look because it is very simple and comfy. It reminds me of a 70s type of look especially with the wide leg on the pants. You can wear this outfit almost wherever which is also why I love it so much. You can add things to dress it up or like me dress it down. I purchased the jumpsuit from PacSun and shoes from Fashion Nova. All three of these looks were thrown together from all different things I found in my closet! I feel like some of them would be fun to wear for the upcoming fashion week! It’s so much fun to just play around and see what two random things could be paired together. You never know it could become a whole new look!
