CDR Wrap Up

We are just TWO DAYS away from leaving our books and pencils behind and running full-force to the beach with our beach towels and flip flops in hand! As we say goodbye to this semester, we just wanted to say a quick thank you to all who have followed, supported, and helped us bring CDR to life! We are so excited to continue this journey and can't wait to make CDR even bigger and better next semester! But don't think we are peacing-it just yet! This summer we will still be bringing you your fashion-fix via our blog and social media platforms, so make sure you check back every so often (in between pool parties and tanning sessions, of course!) One of our very own, Mariah Ricci, wrote a fabulous article about what you can expect from CDR next semester! So take a break from cramming for your last few finals and check it out!

After a whirlwind semester filled with positive beginnings, we are extremely happy to say the fall will be a wonderful and exciting time for CDR. Looking back on this semester we were fortunate enough to get our name out around campus and be a part of some fantastic events. To all the lovely students that gave us a look into their personal style, we would like to say thank you. Our SSLOTD posts wouldn’t have been possible without you and your trendy closets. This is something you can look forward to seeing a lot more of next semester. Fall and fashion go hand in hand when it comes to showing off your style, and CDR will be ready to snag some of the best looks on campus; mind you, with seasonal lattes in hand (compliments of the campus Starbucks).

During the spring semester, a few of our members took trips to Italy, Scotland, and New York City. While abroad on spring break trips, Lexi and Danielle got to take a look at the fashion in these two beautiful places (how amazing, right?). In NYC our two leading ladies also attended a Fashion PR conference, called Fashion PR Con, where they learned some huge inside tips on landing a career in the world of fashion PR.

Later on in the semester, CDR hosted its first event Swap Don’t Shop. At the event, students donated their gently used clothes or swapped them for one of their pieces of clothing. Keeping our focus of sustainability in mind, all leftover clothes were donated to our local Goodwill, so they could again be put to good use. Now that students have a stronger understanding of what CDR is, we are planning on making this event much bigger next year, and hopefully have it in the quad instead of the Student center. Who doesn’t love a good event in the quad? So college.

The future is bright for CDR for multiple reasons. First and foremost, we plan on taking our team to Pittsburgh fashion week, along with some other fashion shows on various college campuses. Secondly, we might have the opportunity to attend Fashion PR Con as a TEAM (fingers crossed). I can already picture it, “Team CDR takes NYC, a fashion bloggers dream.” Saving the best for last, CDR hopes to host an actual fashion show on campus. Yes, you heard that correctly. We are stepping up our game on some professional and entertaining levels. This event would be the highlight of our year, to say the least. With such an amazing and hardworking team, the question really comes down to what can’t CDR do?

Now that summer is right around the corner, we plan on posting a couple feature stories while we are separated on our summer adventures. On that note, we hope our readers are prepared for our future endeavors, and enjoy our posts to come. Goodbye school stress; hello sunshine, beaches, and of course, your amazing summer wardrobe.

XOXO,

Team CDR
