NYWF 2016

Hello, readers. It's that time of the year again where I (somehow) pick my favorite collections from the one and only New York Fashion Week. The Fall RTW (Ready to Wear) collections were a symbol of fashion pizazz, prestige, pure genius, to say the least. So without further ado, here are what I like to refer to as the fab four of NYFW.

Tory Burch

Tory's RTW collection caught my eye for a few reasons. First, the shapes. Almost every look in her collection had a focus of sharp, unique shapes that defined each look individually. The mix-matched masterpieces worked together in a very Tory-esque way, (here's where you go look at older collections and go oh, I get it). Secondly, she remained true to the brand's identity. When you think Tory Burch, you think standout shades in detailed patterns, blended together to perfection. It's like when you see an outfit and automatically think "I've got to have that"-correction-"NEED to have that." Here's to outdoing yourself again, Miss Burch.

Marc Jacobs

Fashion week was not ready for the goth-glam combo from the master himself, Marc Jacobs. Imagine every fairytale you've ever known with a dark, somehow brilliant twist, and you will see the resemblance in Jacob's collection. His collection was fascinating for its blend of creativity and dark art, perfectly captured in fashion. He goes beyond the norm almost every time, and just like kids in a candy store, designers, bloggers, and big fashion guru's (like Miss Wintour herself) all sit back in awe wondering, "Wow, he did it again." His collection was easily (and understandably) one of the most talked about shows during NYFW.

Michael Kors

Everything about this collection was YAAAAAS. Kors presented a color scheme of tans, greys, black and some a bright ensembles. Each look basically said "Yes world, I'm here." Even as I sit here and write this, I am struggling to capture the how incredible this RTW collection was. For starters, it takes work chic to a whole new level, (forget your boring pant suit) and partners class with personality. Life would be so boring without fashion, and Michael Kors proves that in all 57 of his marvelous looks.

Rachel Zoe

The BOHO queen showcased rich, metallic pieces that brought together the essence of Zoe's character. For those of you who are unfamiliar with the style icon, she is the go-to stylist for countless celebs, and now sits on the designer throne where she always belonged. Yes, it's great to be styled by THE Rachel Zoe, but how about wearing one of her fresh-off-the runway looks? That's even better. Zoe's growth in the industry makes her a symbol of hard work, which is showcased in her collection. Her sleek, 70's-meets-city-vibes make you want to have somewhere to go so you can say "I'm wearing Rachel Zoe." Forever a star in the fashion world, Zoe continues to shine bright as the chic goddess she is, with gorgeous looks to prove it.

If you're still with me after all of that, thank you. And if I lost you half-way through one of Marc Jacob's black-swan looking outfits, I totally understand. The beauty of the breakdown brought us full circle to look forward to another season on the NYFW scene. Until then, we'll be soaking in the newest, loveliest and edgiest must-have pieces of the moment. Lastly, a big shout out to Kors, Zoe, Jacobs, and Burch for reminding me why I love fashion. Your clothes along with other countless designers bring zest to our lives through the magic of clothing. For that, we thank you.
