It’s safe to say everyone has been talking about Rihanna’s new makeup line, Fenty Beauty, since it made its debut September 8, 2017. After the singer released the trailer for her new beauty line on Twitter, it blew up immediately. The trailer featured beautiful girls of all skin tones sporting her new foundation, highlighter, and lip gloss. Fans around the world, including me, couldn’t wait to get their hands on these products.

Why is there so much hype behind this new line? It features 40 different foundation shades suited for women of all skin tones! Typically, when brands come out with a new foundation there are only about 10-15 shades in the collection. Out of those there are about 2-3 shades that may be suitable for women of color. Rihanna stated that she created her beauty line “so women everywhere would be included.”

Before buying anything from the Fenty Beauty collection I did my research. I watched countless Youtube videos featuring beauty gurus such as Nikkie tutorials, Nyma Tang, Bella Fiori, and Jasmine Brown discussing their first impressions and overall opinions on the products. The foundation looked good on every skin tone and the highlighters were blinding even through my laptop screen! Almost all the beauty gurus I watched seemed to really enjoy the things they tried out.

After watching tons of Youtubers rave about Fenty Beauty, I decided it was time for me to give one of the products a try. So, I dragged my best friend along with me to Sephora to pick up the Fenty Beauty Pro Filt’r foundation. I bought shade 340 (cool). As soon as I tried it I knew the color was a perfect match for me. It was easy to blend and had medium coverage, however it is buildable if you want that full coverage foundation look. It also kept my face looking matte all day, which is something I always look for in a foundation. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone looking for a new, matte foundation to test out.

You can buy Fenty Beauty by Rihanna in store at Sephora and online at www.sephora.com or www.fentybeauty.com.
