Over the past 10 years, the beauty industry and community have become a huge phenomenon. People have become obsessed with different makeup looks and trends. Whether it’s used to make a person feel more confident, or a way for an artist to express their talents, makeup has blown up, giving the cosmetology world a spotlight.
Social media is where most beauty influencers share their expertise, ideas, and opinions with the world. With social media being at the top of the food chain, it is easy to upload a picture or video of something you like or create and then followers and friends can repost or like your content. While some influencers begin on popular social networks like Instagram and YouTube, there are some who began back when Myspace existed, including the one and only Jeffree Star.
Jeffree Star is one of the world’s most successful beauty gurus and social media influencers. He began his road to fame on Myspace, during its peak. He was uploading videos of makeup tutorials and talking to his audience. He quickly became the Myspace king, and people liked him because he was unique and relatable. He was able to then pursue a music career and give himself the image he was looking for. Later on, when Myspace started to fall, Jeffree took his brand to YouTube hoping to catch a new audience to follow his journey.
Fast forward to the year 2019, Jeffree is a star in the beauty community, reigning supreme among fellow beauty gurus and social media influencers like Jaclyn Hill, James Charles, Nikki Tutorials and many more. Jeffree’s career has been one not many others share. He has received many haters throughout the years, trying to trash his name and career, but Jeffree does not let the hatters bring him down.
Beyond his high status in the world of social media, Jeffree is also a successful business man and entrepreneur. Creating his own e-commerce makeup brand in 2014, Jeffree Star Cosmetics was born. Soon after, his brand skyrocketed. Everyone wanted to own and wear high quality makeup created by their favorite YouTuber.
Over the years, Jeffree has become a successful and respected beauty guru and star in not only the U.S., but the world. From uploading makeup tutorials and making music during his Myspace reign, to becoming one of the top YouTube creators in the world, Jeffree really can say he is a star.
