From the birth of the original blue jean to a current high fashion phenomenon, Levi’s Strauss & Company is known as one of the most iconic all-American brands.
Levi Strauss & Co. is now introducing NextGen retail stores that include tailor shops to customize anything Levi’s. Yes, even your thrifted 505’s. The tailor shops offer embroidery, alterations, and custom personalizations.
I recently visited one of Levi’s NextGen stores in Ross Park Mall near Pittsburgh. This location offers pins, buttons, custom back patches and tabs, embroidery and certain alterations. They have so many colors and designs of back patches, tabs, and buttons that would truly elevate any type of Levi’s jeans to make them one of a kind.
The variety of customizations is amazing, but I was mostly interested in the tailoring aspect of the NextGen stores. Unfortunately, the employee at the store told me they currently offer hemming for jeans but they will be able to do waist adjustments and tapering once their tailor is fully trained within the next few months.
Levi Strauss & Co. is one of my favorite brands and adding customizations to their high-quality denim just enhances my love for Levi’s. Adding a new patch, button or colored tab is a great way to give life to a thrifted pair of Levi’s denim.
