I have always been the kind of person who wears jeans every day. My favorite part of the day is picking a cute outfit and accessorizing it with boots and jewelry. After my sophomore year of college, I decided to change my major to exercise science, and I am thrilled that I did! What I didn’t know was that I would be giving up my ability to curate stylish outfits for class every day. Most of the outfits I would typically wear are not conducive to the activities we do in courses like “Aerobic Exercise Leadership” and “Resistance Training.” After all, it is not ideal to be running at sixty percent of your maximum heart rate in jeans, a sweater, and boots.
I needed to figure out how to dress for physical activity while staying true to my style. This scared me because I usually would never leave the house in leggings unless I went to the gym. In addition, my collection of gym clothes didn’t include exceptionally stylish items. So, I decided to investigate the “athleisure” trend. In recent years, athleisure has become increasingly popular. This trend normalizes wearing athletic clothes, creating a comfortable and functional look. After researching, I realized that I could enjoy adding this new twist to my style. So, I began looking for ideas about making athleisure something I could like. Here are a few ways to style your athleisure!
1. Look for sets!
3. Layer! Wear an oversized zip-up hoodie with a matching sports bra and leggings, or even layer multiple sports bras!
Here are a few of my favorite places to buy athleisure!
I recently found this brand on Amazon, and I absolutely love them! My all-time favorite biker shorts are from EVCR, and most of their items are incredibly affordable!
Aerie is one of the best places to buy athleisure!
Fabletics is a bit more expensive than the other options, but it is still worth mentioning. This company is constantly creating new content and partnering with celebrities to develop new designs. So, if you are searching for cute matching sets, this is the place to look!
