Alumna Spotlight: Alyssa Kusinech

Today we are highlighting a past CDR member, Alyssa Kusinech. Alyssa graduated from SRU in 2022 with a degree in Integrated Marketing Communication.

Alyssa currently holds two positions, as a Digital Account Manager at Little Moon Marketing, and as the Digital Media Manager at Safety First. 

While Alyssa did not hold a position during her time in CDR, she still gained valuable experience and created lasting memories as an active member. She was the website designer for the club and helped to create a new website for the CDR website launch in 2022. Being a part of this organization helped Alyssa discover her love for social media, a passion she has carried into her professional roles through copywriting, web design, and photography in the boutique agency setting.

In 2019, CDR took a trip to New York City to tour a digital marketing agency. During this trip, the club met with SRU alumni who shared their professional journeys. Alyssa was only a sophomore at the time, but the experience left a lasting impact and helped her begin to solidify her own career path. 

Alyssa also has an amazing sense of style. You’ll often find her mixing feminine and edgy pieces, such as pairing a long skirt with combat boots or a faux leather jacket.

I had the opportunity to meet Alyssa at a recent alumni dinner, where she shared several pieces of advice that really resonated with me. She reminded us that it’s okay to not have everything figured out right away and encouraged us to enjoy where we are in the moment. Alyssa emphasized the importance of always continuing to learn, both by soaking up knowledge from professional peers and by taking time to teach yourself new skills and explore your passions. She also encouraged current CDR members to step outside of their comfort zones and to be confident in themselves, reminding us that we’re capable of far more than we often believe. Things that seem daunting now will get easier with experience and time, and that confidence grows as you continue to learn and challenge yourself.
