Our alum spotlight today features Mariah Ricci, who graduated in 2017 with a Communication degree with a focus in Public Relations. She currently works at FLOW Wellness as both a Marketing Outreach Coordinator and a Psychotherapist.
Mariah played a significant role in the growth and development of CDR. In fact, it was Mariah who took the initiative to get CDR enrolled as an official club in 2016. We cannot thank her enough for starting this incredible organization. Since Mariah helped get CDR off the ground, it was natural for her to serve as president from 2016-2017. In this leadership role, she built a strong foundation in professional development. Mariah gained valuable experience in creative thinking and strategic planning while strengthening her commitment to continued growth—all of which connect to her current career success.
Throughout Mariah’s time in CDR, she truly valued the opportunity to work with her peers. She enjoyed collaborating with others to plan, organize, and execute events. Seeing members come together and enjoy the events made all the hard work worthwhile. The events she helped organize not only created memorable experiences but also played a role in the growth and recognition of CDR.
Now an alum, Mariah continues to express herself through her personal style. You can often find Mariah wearing timeless fashion pieces that reflect her simple yet stylish taste. She is drawn to versatile pieces that can be styled differently, allowing her to express herself while keeping her look classic. Mariah said if she finds an article of clothing she can style in three different ways, then she knows she found a staple.
I asked Mariah to give one piece of advice to our current members, and I don’t think she could have answered any better: “Don’t underestimate yourself. The growth happens when you say yes to leadership roles that feel slightly intimidating. That discomfort is usually where your confidence, clarity, and direction are built.”
